An unsolicited plaudit from a reader who discovered the book while browsing on Amazon!
"Thank you for this remarkable volume. An admirable and brilliant premise, for sure. I appreciate the capturing of an almost gone generation of men. My perception is that it is also a step towards preserving that current male generation. Each essay was surprising and clearly written from the heart. Every author’s voice was apparent, not always an easy task in writing. I look forward to the journey of this book as I believe there is a place for it where many others, particularly young males, would benefit from it. I am grateful for your vision as well as the ability to recruit so many of your contemporaries to participate. As a female in your generation I saw a sincerely different side to men my age. We are all truly connected at levels beyond our perception. Thank you."

A second plaudit from her!
"Hi! Just wanted to let you know that your book has left footprints in my head and heart. Reminded me of my own father who went on his next journey on June 6, 2016 at the age of 100 plus five months exactly. I was remarkably blessed to spend his last nine months with him in our family home. (That is another story indeed.) I was struck today with the thought that, for me, one of the greatest gifts he (and my mom) gave to our family was an answer to that line in the musical "Hamilton" - "teach me how to say good-bye." I thought, wow, our generation is so fortunate to have had the "greatest" generation show us (at least me) how to die with grace, acceptance, and love. I don't know that I would made those connections had I not read your book. So, thank you! A Thanksgiving touch of appreciation. I hope you ands your family have a truly spectacular Thanksgiving. --Peggy"
And some five-star Amazon reviews!
"Fathers and Sons is the rare book that pulls together a group of men to write about memories of growing up, the role of the father (and sometimes mother), and the interactions both good and bad. It is a glimpse into growing up as a Baby Boomer raised by fathers of the WWII generation. There is much in the book that creates topics for conversation and, perhaps, reflection. It also promotes comparisons not only of these recorded memories but the reader’s memories of growing up in that era and in the reader’s own time."

"Lovely testaments to the father and son relationship. The heartfelt stories made me laugh, cry, and think. I’m so grateful to have had a chance to get to know so many fine families!

Well, perhaps not all of them. But three of Jim DeVoe's nephews are clearly entranced, and having fun, as they read these exploits:
